Willie Booker was
born in South Carolina in 1941 and learned to draw at the age
of four. He began painting in the 3rd grade and his artistic
style has been shaped by his experiences in living in or traveling
to the Caribbean, Wyoming,California, Alaska, England, France,
Sweden, and Belgium. After completing his training with Cartoonists
Exchange in 1961, Mr. Booker graduated from Los Angeles City
College in 1973 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Commercial
Art, followed by graduating with his Bachelor of Arts Degree
from California State University/ Dominguez Hills in 1977. He
has completed portraits of First Ladies Jacqueline Kennedy and
Hillary Rodham Clinton. His collection includes over 120 pieces
and he continues to hold art exhibitions on a regular basis
at local universities, colleges, and prominent businesses.

Jarda K. Hiatt-Booker
was born in the state of Indiana, also in 1941. She learned
that she had a definite interest in the art world at the age
of nine. At ten, she won first prize for her painting of red
poppies for the local Veterans' Day celebration. Her travel
experiences around the world, in addition to living in Libya,
North Africa, and England have been a major influence on her
lifestyle and more current artwork. She is still exploring
the works yet to be discovered inside her head and heart.
